Recall FAQs
I bought a product that I believe has been recalled at a dollar store but I am not sure which one. Where has the product been sold?
Products subject to a recall by Dollar Tree would have only been offered at store operated by Dollar Tree, which include Dollar Tree and Dollar Giant in Canada and the U.S., and Dollar Tree Market, Dollar Bill$, Dollar Express, Deal$, Dollar Tree Deal$, Greenbacks, and Super Tree in the U.S. (collectively “Dollar Tree Stores”).
How can I confirm if I have a recalled product?
You may examine the official recall notice on our website, which many also be posted at www.hc-sc.ca/index-eng.php or www.recals.gov. If you have the original packaging, you can see if the number on the back matches what is in the official recall notice.
If I have a recalled product, what are my options?
You can return the product to any one of the Dollar Tree Stores for a refund or exchange. You do not need a receipt or original packaging. You can locate the store nearest you on our main page at www.dollartreecanada.com.
I think I see a product that is on recall on your shelves. What should I do?
Please inform the store manager who can check the product by scanning it in our system. Recalled products cannot be sold and those items have been locked at our scanning registers. It is also possible that what appears to be a recalled product is an enhanced version that was corrected by the manufacturer. The store manager should also be able to let you know if this is the case.
I noticed that a recall sign is no longer posted in you store. Does that mean the recall was withdrawn or that it is over?
No. A product is on recall indefinitely. You can always check Heath Canada or the Consumer Product Safety Commission recall website for all products that have been recalled publicly.
